The Harris Poll says almost half of U-S say President Bush has done a poor job handling the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. About one-quarter believes he has done a fair job while 21 percent believe he has done a good job, and only nine percent say the president has done an excellent job in handling the relief efforts.

61% of Adult Women Agree Having Close Friendships Improves Health
Past studies done at Harvard Medical School and U-C-L-A has found that women who have close friendships are not only happy but healthy. Through a survey commissioned by General Foods International beverages and conducted by Harris Interactive, women nationwide were asked if they feel that there are health benefits to having close friendships and 61 percent of them strongly or somewhat agreed.

'Desperate' Men Ask Fans for $10 Million
Two of Hollywood's hottest hunks are showing their softer sides by focusing their attention on raising money for breast cancer initiatives. James Denton and Ricardo Antonio Chavira, stars of the hit television show "Desperate Housewives," have joined forces to help commemorate the ten-year anniversary of Lee National Denim Day, a program that has raised 52 million dollars for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Denton and Chavira are calling on people nationwide to join them October seventh in wearing denim and donating to the cause. Through individual five dollar donations, Lee Jeans, Denton and Chavira hope to raise ten million dollars for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs. One hundred percent of every dollar raised through Lee National Denim Day goes directly to the Komen Foundation for initiatives that might otherwise go unfunded.
