GolTV Will Broadcast the U.S. Open Cup Final Between the Los Angeles Galaxy and F.C. Dallas, on September 28th.

MIAMI, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Los Angeles Galaxy and F.C. Dallas will come face to face during the historic Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup final that will be broadcast throughout the United States exclusively on GolTV.

The match will be aired live on Wednesday, September 28 from the Home Depot Center in California. Prior to the game, the network's popular show American Soccer will be transmitting a special one-hour pre-game show, live from the field.

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is a tournament for professional and amateur clubs where the champion takes home $100,000 in prize money. This year's Open Cup kicked off in June with 42 teams vying for the top slot -- of those, 26 were pro teams.

Dallas, who won the cup in 1997, beat out the Chicago Fire in one of this year's semi-finals. The 2001 champions, the Galaxy, were victorious in their semifinal game against the Minnesota Thunder.

The U.S. National team's star player, Landon Donovan will be in the starting line-up for the Galaxy in the U.S. Open Cup Final. Also playing is Las Vegas-born, Hercules Gomez, who has commanded attention with his excellent performance punctuated by scoring 8 goals in 18 matches during this season alone.

But, while the locals possess such a high caliber of new talent along with veterans of the likes of legendary midfielder forward Cobi Jones, the Dallas squad also counts with top-notch players such as Guatemalan Carlos "Pescadito" Ruiz who many consider to be the most lethal foreigner in U.S. soccer. In addition, Dallas' offense is led by Ecuadorian Roberto Mina who, with only 20 years of age and five goals in the current season, has become one of the greatest foreign soccer promises in the United States.
