El Premio de la Gente(R), Latin Music Fan Awards 2005 Announces Nominees for 7th Annual Awards

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- El Premio de la Gente(R), Latin Music Fan Awards 2005 announced the official nominees and tribute honorees for its 7th annual awards show and launched its national voting campaign in Los Angeles today. This dynamic, Latin music awards ceremony allows fans to determine the award winners. Presented by title sponsor Chevrolet, the awards will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2005, at The Forum in Los Angeles.

Fans can be a part of El Premio de la Gente by casting their ballots and then see the awards presented live at The Forum. Tickets for the award show taping are on sale now at all TicketMaster locations. The two-hour television broadcast of this popular awards celebration will air nationwide in primetime on October 29 at 7:00 PM EST on the Telemundo Television Network.

This year's nominees include a vast range of Latin music artists from around the world. Nominees are selected based on total sales tabulated by Soundscan(R) information gathered from October 31, 2004 to March 31, 2005. Awards will be presented in 14 categories. In addition to recognizing today's stars, the show honors a variety of artists for their special achievement and popularity with fans. Tribute honorees this year include Ciudadano de la Radio, Eddie 'Piolin' Sotelo de la Nueva KSCA 101.9; Estrella de la Gente, Miguel Bose and Gloria de la Musica, Oscar de Leon.
