Players Network Appoints Michael J. Stone as Programming Sales Executive
15-Year Sales Veteran to Establish and Build New Revenue Stream From Program Sales and Acquisition
LAS VEGAS, July 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Players Network (OTC Bulletin Board: PNTV) today appointed Michael J. Stone, Programming Sales Executive. He will establish the company's new program sales business and oversee both its development and the resulting new revenue stream, leveraging his strong relationships with television distributors worldwide.
That revenue will come from the sale of Players Network originally-produced programs to broadcasters, cable networks and satellite companies throughout the world. Additionally, Stone will identify existing programs of other producers and programming networks for licensing by Players Network.
Stone has worked as Vice President, Worldwide Sales, for Regent Entertainment Arclight Films and, most recently, Showcase Entertainment. He began his career at Turner Entertainment Company, during the startup of the TNT International Networks, managing the distribution in Europe and Latin America.
"Michael's industry relationships, and his success in the sale of television programming to stations and networks worldwide, make him ideal to set up and build our program sales business, said Michael Berk, President of Programming, Players Network.
"There is incredible growth within the global gaming industry and increasing television ratings of popular poker programs," said Stone. "Players Network's programming strategy presents far greater revenue potential than any one show or one area of gaming. The depth and breadth of the company's 'gaming lifestyle' vision will provide a strong opportunity to build a significant program sales business."
