Judy Collins New Book and CD in Stores Now: Portrait Of An American Girl Morning, Noon And Night - Living The Creative Life

NEW YORK, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Wildflower Records is pleased to present Portrait of an American Girl, Collins' first studio album in nearly a decade. As has become one of her trademarks, Judy has recorded an eclectic group of songs for this album, which includes personal songs she has written on her own, along with resounding covers of such songs as the Motown hit "Sally Go 'Round the Roses," Train's "Drops of Jupiter" and Bruce Cockburn's "Pacing the Cage." Portrait of an American Girl is currently in stores now.

Tarcher released Morning, Noon, and Night (a Tarcher/Penguin hardcover, 1- 58542-415-3) on June 23, 2005. Morning Noon and Night is written for every artist in any creative discipline, with its beautifully balanced offering of personal reflection, counsel, and living example of how to live the creative life to the fullest.

Collins draws upon a deep reservoir of experience as a painter, writer, and singer/songwriter that greatly enhances her suggestions on tapping into creativity. She includes a rich array of anecdotes from the entire spectrum of her life - from her earliest teachers and her childhood in Seattle, through her sometimes turbulent years as a young performer, to the steady creative life she has built for herself maintaining a rigorous concert schedule of about 50-60 concerts annually. Collins includes her own song lyrics as examples, discussing what inspired them and how she wrote them, allowing readers a vivid glimpse into her creative process. She shares the many things that spark her imagination.

Currently Collins is on a 15-city press tour in support of the new CD - Portrait of An American Girl. Upcoming promotional highlights include an appearance on World Cafe, WFUV's Mix Bag, West Coast Live, ETOWN and a Good Morning America Performance on July 14, 2005.
