LOS ANGELES, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. District Court Judge Florence Marie Cooper declared a mistrial yesterday in the Notorious B.I.G. wrongful death lawsuit after expressing concern that the Los Angeles Police Department had deliberately withheld evidence from the court. But much of the missing evidence has been publicly accessible through the hit video, Chronicles Of The Junior M.A.F.I.A. from Hannover House and Ground Zero Entertainment.

The latest court ruling adds new fuel to the national debate over the circumstances and conspiracy that led to the murder of Christopher Wallace, aka "Notorious B.I.G." in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997. Family members and close associates claim that former LAPD Officer David Mack arranged to have Wallace killed at the request of Death Row Records founder Marion "Suge" Knight and that LAPD officials covered up Mack's involvement. Judge Cooper's declaration of a mistrial supports the family's position that the LAPD has been uncooperative in releasing evidence which implicates former and current officers.

"We had been among the first to present evidence of the conspiracy and cover-up, but it's taken the spotlight of this lawsuit to bring this truth to the public's attention. Chronicles of the Junior M.A.F.I.A. investigates the circumstances leading up to the murder of Notorious B.I.G., including the subsequent breakup between Lil' Kim and the hip-hop group, Junior M.A.F.I.A. The film also features rare footage of rap music superstars and exclusive music tracks on both the DVD and a companion audio CD. The film was originally released in 2004, but has enjoyed a powerful surge in sales in recent months in the wake of publicity surrounding the wrongful death lawsuit. The film was produced by Anthony J. Perez, with Executive Producers April Maiya and James "Lil Cease" Lloyd.
