United Business Media plc: Special Dividend and Share Consolidation

LONDON, June 21/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Following the approval of the resolutions proposed at the Extraordinary General Meeting of United Business Media plc ("UBM"), (LSE: UBM) held on 20 June 2005, the Share Consolidation of UBM has become effective and dealings in UBM's New Ordinary Shares are expected to commence this morning.

Payment of the Special Dividend is expected to take place on 28 June 2005.

Despatch of new share certificates and cheques in respect of fractional entitlements to New Ordinary Shares is expected to take place on 30 June 2005.
