Top Youth Volunteers From Every State to Be Honored at Washington Award Ceremony Tonight

America's Top Ten Youth Volunteers of the Year to Be Announced on Monday

SUNDAY, MAY 1, 6:15 P.M. -- Top Two Youth Volunteers From Each State Honored

WHERE: Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, Constitution Ave. at 10th St. NW, Washington, D.C.

WHAT: The top two youth volunteers from each state, D.C. and Puerto Rico will gather for The 2005 Prudential Spirit of Community state awards ceremony. From 6:15 to 7:00, they will hear from Prudential Financial CEO and General Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.), U.S. Secretary of State (2001-2004). After dinner, from 8:30 to 9:30, each student will be presented with a $1,000 award.

MONDAY, MAY 2, 12:45 P.M. -- Nation's Top Ten Youth Volunteers Announced

WHERE: Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center, Atrium Ballroom, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, D.C.

WHAT: The nation's top ten youth volunteers for 2005 will be announced and presented with personal awards of $5,000, gold medallions, crystal trophies for their schools, and $5,000 grants from the Prudential Foundation for nonprofit charitable organizations of their choice.
