The Church of Our Lady of Grace to Hold Musical 'Mass of Hope' on May 29
PITTSBURGH, May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- In this Year of the Eucharist, Our Lady of Grace Parish (OLG) in Scott Township will mark the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, with a unique liturgical celebration on Sunday, May 29th, at the 11:30 a.m. Mass.
The combined traditional and folk choirs of OLG, under the direction of John Paul Cappa, will sing the "Mass of Hope," a mass in the jazz idiom composed by Joe Negri. Complementing the choirs' choral performance, the Joe Negri Quartet featuring cantors Maureen Budway and Thomas Douglas will fill the Church with this remarkable jazz music originally recorded with the Duquesne University Choir in the Jubilee Year 2000.
A light reception will follow in Keefer Hall with the opportunity to purchase the original compact disc recording of the "Mass of Hope." The afternoon will include Eucharistic Adoration from 1:00-5:00 p.m. and close with Benediction for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.
The Church of Our Lady of Grace is located at 310 Kane Boulevard, in Scott Township.
