Alliance Atlantis CFO to Depart Once Successor Installed

TORONTO, May 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliance Atlantis Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael MacMillan today announced that the Company's Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer W. Judson Martin would be leaving Alliance Atlantis, for health reasons, once a successor is in place.

"Jud is a valued friend as well as a colleague and he will be missed, but as a friend, I know this is the right move, given his health concerns" said Mr. MacMillan. "Jud has been a key participant in the transformation that has taken place here at Alliance Atlantis. He has made an enormous contribution by leading many of our major initiatives over the past few years including the creation of the Movie Distribution Income Fund, the restructuring of our Entertainment assets, and the refinancing of our balance sheet. Jud's legacy to us and our shareholders will be the significant improvement in our financial strength and flexibility that will be the foundation for continued growth in shareholder value."

He added, "We have asked Jud, and I am pleased to say that he has agreed, to remain in his role until his successor is in place, which we expect will occur by September 2005."
