Oh ... 'So Wilde!' Fashion Show & Party to Benefit VH1 Save The Music Foundation Sponsored by Across the Bridge Theatricals Foundation

Hosted by Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls

NEW YORK, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- "Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable; one must change it every six months." -- Oscar Wilde.

In the spirit of Oscar Wilde, fashion, rock & roll and theatre converge to create an oh "So Wilde!" night. Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls will host a fashion show and party to benefit VH1 Save the Music Foundation on Friday, May 20th, 2005 at earthNYC. New York fashion vixen, Annique Lambe, has created three fashion collections inspired by the Broadway-bound musical, Canterville Ghost, based on Oscar Wilde's short story.

VIP tickets are priced at $1,000 and includes admission to the VIP Lounge. General Admission tickets are priced at $700. Doors open at 8:30 pm; the Fashion Show begins at 9:00 pm. The event features featuring DJ Rumor, premium open bar and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets can be purchased by calling (646) 591-9705 or online at http://www.sowilde.com/.

"A partnership between VH1 Save the Music and the producers of the musical, Canterville Ghost, makes perfect sense. Our missions are very similar. Whether it's a child learning to play a musical instrument in school or playing an instrument in a Broadway orchestra, it's all about music and getting musical instruments to children who wouldn't ordinarily have the opportunity," states Paul Cothran, executive director of VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

Designer Annique Lambe combines her training in theatrical costume design with her experience in contemporary fashion design in both Ireland and the USA. Using high end and often unusual fabrics, Annique employs her signature hand-embellishing techniques in each creation. She calls her personal style a cocktail of modern shabby chic with a 20's twist and a dash of diamond. Annique's collection is complimented by handcrafted hats designed especially by milliner, Corrina Griffin. Also featured will be women's shoes by Chinese Laundry, men's shoes by Trippen and handbags by New York designer Lorelei Designs.

Canterville Ghost is a musical based on the Oscar Wilde short story by the same name. Set in the 1920s, it is the tale of a young American family moving into a medieval English manor haunted by a fine and respectable ghost of the grand tradition; an expert performer and master of his craft. Unfortunately for the ghost, modern American sensibility leaves little room for such nonsense as haunting. The story maintains the subtle wit and dry humor of the Wilde original by introducing a new character based on Oscar Wilde himself. With a score of more than twenty original songs that span from jazz to pop to Broadway, it's a musical brimming with contradictions -- comedy and drama. It plays liberally with American and British customs, politics, and age-old stereotypes, lampooning both countries to riotous effect.

The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in America's public schools by restoring music programs in cities across the country, and raising public awareness about the importance of music participation for our nation's youth.
