Monterey Wine Country Toasts the Summer at the Premier Outdoor Wine Festival in Monterey County

The 13th Annual Winemakers' Celebration Is Slated for August 13, 2005

MONTEREY, Calif., April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Join the Monterey County Vintners and Growers Association, MCVGA, at the 13th Annual Winemakers' Celebration on Saturday, August 13, 2005 from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the historic Custom House Plaza in downtown Monterey. The festivities include over forty-five Monterey County wineries joining forces to showcase their world-class wines.

Paraiso Vineyards Winemaker Dave Fleming looks forward to the Celebration each year: "Paraiso has participated since the event's inception. It's a rare opportunity for guests to interact directly with the winemaker or owner. For our part, we love seeing folks enjoying our wines in such a dramatic setting, accompanied by great entertainment. We see quite a few return visitors to our table every year -- they provide me with valuable insights into how my Paraiso wines are 'showing.' All-in-all, the Winemaker Celebration is our favorite festival -- a 'can't miss' on our annual calendar!"

The Winemakers' Celebration incorporates wine tasting with education, food, and music in a fabulous setting. In addition to Monterey County wineries pouring their special wines for the day, unique hands-on activities also occur. The blending seminars, where guests are able to mix various varietals and create their own special blend, are always a sold-out favorite and will be back again in 2005.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy great food offered by Monterey County restaurants and caterers; dance to the upbeat tunes of The Eldredge and Rossi Band; and place bids in an extraordinary wine auction featuring unique wine items such as rare bottles, wine art, old vintages, VIP winery tours and winemaker dinners.

Tickets are $35 per person in advance, or $40 per person at the event. Ticket price includes a Monterey Wine Country commemorative wineglass, tastings at the winery tables, participation at the seminars, and entertainment. Designated driver tickets are available for $15, and designated drivers will receive a souvenir mug and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks.
