DPC Signs Major Contract With Front Porch Digital at National Association of Broadcasters Media Show

Fifth DIVArchive Win in Germany

BOULDER, Colo., April 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Incentra Solutions, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: ICEN) today announced that its Front Porch Digital (FPD) Broadcast & Media Division signed a major contract yesterday with Digital Playout Center GmbH (DPC) at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Electronic Media Show in Las Vegas. As part of this contract Front Porch will deploy and integrate a digital video archive powered by DIVArchive, its flagship broadcast storage and archive management system.

DPC, a 100 percent German subsidiary of the world's premier satellite operator SES Global Europe S.A., operates one of the most modern transmission centres in Europe. The broadcast centre transmits by satellite more than 100 digital TV and radio channels as well as data services for different broadcasters. In addition to transporting content for Premiere, the leading pay-TV operator in Germany and Austria, DPC also transmits programming for ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, Home Shopping Europe HSE 24, German sport television DSF, use Tele 5, 9Live and many others. DPC also operates an IP-sat Network which brings satellite-based multicast data and wide-band multimedia communications services to business customers.

The all-digital video archive, located in Unterfoehring Germany, will feature online disk storage, near-line tape storage, and off-line storage on externalized tapes. The system is expected to grow from 6,000 hours to more than 30,000 hours within one year.

"Digital Playout Center GmbH has a long standing reputation for operating one of the most modern broadcast systems in Europe," said Stefan Hennecke, Director Playout at DPC Digital Playout Center GmbH. "When it came time to implement a tapeless system, we required a proven and scalable solution capable of managing our assets in the long run, while offering a continuity of service to all our broadcast channels. Among all available solutions, we found DIVArchive the most largely deployed and proven system, backed by an impressive number of references in the broadcast market. Our own analysis has also revealed that DIVArchive can meet all our current requirements and bring additional value to our workflow which might be of interest in the longer term."

"With this deployment, DPC will be at the forefront of a migration to a tapeless environment, bringing greater operational control and flexibility to their operation," said Rino Petricola, Managing Director and Vice-President, Front Porch Digital International. "DPC's selection of Front Porch carries a great weight within the German broadcast community, and extends to five the total number of DIVArchive references in that country. This clearly establishes Front Porch as a market leader in Germany."
