Doc Hollywood Kidz (OTC: DHYK) Pacts with Animazoo for an All-New Version of the Children's Classic, 'Beauty and the Beast'

Doc Hollywood Kidz (OTC: DHYK) Pacts with Animazoo for an All-New Version of the Children's Classic, 'Beauty and the Beast'

LOS ANGELES, April 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Utilizing Doc Hollywood Kidz' recently formed alliance with motion capture pioneers Animazoo, noted producer Harrison Kordestani and DHYK CEO Steven Saxton have entered into a co-production arrangement to begin pre-production for an all-new version of the children's classic, "Beauty and the Beast." The companies have announced they will begin the process of developing the live-action characters for the new project.

Written by Pierce Milner, the film is being produced by Doc Hollywood Kidz together with the European family entertainment production company, Track 9 Entertainment in association with Animazoo. The motion picture is expected to be budgeted at US$14 million, and partially take advantage of European financial and tax incentives, such as those in force in England and Hungary. Consequently, the film will be shot on location in Europe. The script is in final stages of development and the company is currently in negotiations with several high profile European directors and cast. The company hopes to have the project signed with Arclight Films through its first-look arrangement and is aiming at the Toronto Film Festival to unveil the full package.

Although the basic plot of Milner's "Beauty and the Beast" comes from a very widespread folktale, the immediate source of his material is dialogue between a Governess and Several Young Ladies of Quality, by Madam Prince de Beaumont, and "La Belle et la Bete" first published in 1756 in France. As suggested by the title, the tale is a story incorporated into a dialogue and told to young children by their governess, but involves a contemporary twist sure to surprise and please audiences.

Animazoo's client list includes a who's who of Hollywood and includes the multi-Oscar winning effects creators behind films such as "Terminator," "Alien," and "Jurassic Park." Other clientele include game developers, broadcasters and the Entertainment Industry, such as The Sony Ibo Project, Fuji Television, BBC Television, The U.S. Air Force, Sumitomo Corp., Toyota Motor Corporation, and the Stan Winston Studios. Some of the world's most prestigious universities, such as Purdue, MIT, and the Yale Medical School are also on board with Animazoo.
