Bosnia and Herzegovina to Host 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games

Special Olympics and the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games Bid Committee will announce tomorrow that Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, will be the site of the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games. The 2009 Games are expected to attract two thousand athletes with intellectual disabilities from at least 80 countries as well as thousands of families, volunteers, spectators and media from around the world. Exact dates for the 2009 Games have yet to be finalized. This will be the second time that Special Olympics World Winter Games will be hosted in Europe; Austria was the site of the 1993 Special Olympics World Winter Games. The announcement will be made on 5 March during Closing Ceremonies of the 2005 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Nagano.

Backstreet Boys Announce Club Tour Dates; First New Studio Album In Five Years Slated For Summer 2005

Jive Records' artists the Backstreet Boys have announced a string of warm up club dates starting March 21 in New York City in anticipation of their forthcoming as yet untitled album. The group will perform all of their hits, plus a few new songs from the upcoming C-D. The album, slated for release July 2005, is the first studio album for the group since their five times platinum "Black & Blue" was released in 2000. Backstreet Boys debuted in 1997 and have sold 30 million albums in the U-S, 73 million albums worldwide. Prior to their club dates, the Backstreet Boys will be traveling to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the March 18th "Force of Nature for Tsunami Aid" concert.
