Company to Demonstrate Long-Haul Distribution of Live HDTV Programming, MPEG-4 Contribution and Distribution Over IP and Pro-MPEG COP 3 Forward-Error-Correction in Action

(AMEX:PNO), a leading provider of products that enable the transmission of broadcast-quality video over IP networks, announced today a full lineup of product and application demonstrations for the upcoming NAB 2005 show in Las Vegas. For the first time ever at NAB, Path 1 will demonstrate the newest addition to its suite of industry leading Video over IP Gateways, the Vx8000. Using Pro-MPEG standards (COP 3) for Forward Error Correction, the Vx8000 will be set up in a live network scenario to carry broadcast-quality MPEG-4 video from an external location to the Path 1 booth over a fiber-optic IP network. In addition, the company will combine its long-haul Cx1000 products with equipment and content from other leading broadcast equipment providers to demonstrate the viability and benefits of video over IP in different network applications. This includes the long-haul distribution of broadcast video over IP, IP backhaul between teleport and headend facilities, and first and last mile transport of video content, as well as the distribution of live, high-quality video to wireless and mobile devices.
