NBC 10 Narrows the Ratings Gap During Feb. Book and Is a Solid #2 In All Newscasts
BALA CYNWYD, Pa., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- During February, NBC 10 showed terrific growth, strength, and momentum throughout the entire day.
Here are the BIG stories for NBC 10. NBC 10 News is the only station showing growth year-to-year in ALL its morning news shows (between 5-7AM) as well as ALL the afternoon newscasts at 4, 5, and 6PM. NBC 10 News at 11PM Mon.-Fri. is a strong #2 and narrowed the gap with WPVI down to a 1.5 rating points. The final numbers (M-F): WPVI (Channel 6) had an 11.7 rating/19 share and NBC 10 (WCAU Channel 10) had a 10.2 rating/17 share. CBS 3 (KYW Channel 3) was third with a 9.7 rating/16 share. Each rating point equals 29,520 homes.
The exciting stories across the board are:
* NBC10 News @ 5am (2.8) has grown 40% from last February to this February and has also improved 12% from November. * NBC10 News @ 5:30am (3.9) has grown 44% from last year and also experienced a 15% increase from November. * NBC10 News @ 6am (5.1) is up year to year (34%) and from November (9%). * The 10!Show (3.0) is up 3% from last year and 20% from November and is a strong #2 in the time period. * NBC10 News @ 4pm (6.0) is up 22% from year-to-year and from November and beats the nearest news competition by 71%! KYW's 4pm news (3.5) is on the decline. * NBC10's Live @ 5 (6.95) grew 15% from last February and 19% from November and actually beat Dr. Phil in hundredths (6.95 vs. 6.90), which has been declining. * NBC10 News @ 6pm (8.0) is up 14% from Feb04 and 29% from November and narrowed the gap with leader WPVI while increasing the gap with third place KYW. NBC10 beats KYW by 2 full rating points; KYW has experienced year-to-year declines in this time period. * NBC10 News @ 11pm M-F (10.2) is a stronger #2, narrowing the gap with first place WPVI while KYW declined from its November delivery and finished in third place. * NBC10 News @ 11pm M-SU(9.9) beat KYW (9.0) by nearly a full rating point and narrowed the gap with WPVI. * NBC10's Sunday Sports Final (5.2) is a dominant #1, growing 53% from last year.
