The high-end, in-dash DVD/CD/MP3/WMA/AM/FM tuner is Alpine's first to incorporate an HD Radio tuner, allowing consumers to listen in digital, static-free clarity to AM and FM radio stations that are broadcasting with HD Radio technology. The DVA-9965 allows playback of multichannel music with integrated support for Dolby Digital(R) and DTS(R). The unit also features Alpine's proprietary GlideTouch "touch pad" technology, and Vivid BioLite for the brightest, easiest-to-read color display in the industry.

"With the demand for digital media on the rise, mobile entertainment consumers are increasingly insisting that AM and FM radio provide the same exceptional sound quality they now experience from other digital sources," said Stephen Witt, vice president, Brand Marketing, Alpine Electronics. "As an answer to this call for better digital performance in the vehicle, Alpine Electronics has developed a fully digital head unit that incorporates HD Radio technology along with other features to enable a superior in-car digital media listening experience."

"Alpine Electronics has long been viewed as one of the premier brands of high-performance mobile electronics, making today's announcement an especially significant milestone in the rollout of HD Radio technology," said Robert Struble, president and CEO, iBiquity Digital. "The availability of the DVA- 9965 unit this summer will provide consumers of high-end aftermarket receivers an excellent option for listening to digital HD Radio broadcasts."
