Service Grants to Be Awarded to New England Non-Profits by Axon Design and Marketing PORTLAND, Maine, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Axon Design and Marketing, a Portland-based graphic design and marketing firm, is offering $20,000 in pro bono service grants to New England non-profits over the next year. The grants will be awarded quarterly. Each grant is valued at $5,000. "This is our second year of giving back to New England non-profits through the grant program," said Axon principal CJ Johnson. "By targeting our charitable contributions in this manner we've been able to make a significant impact for several organizations. Witnessing that impact has been very rewarding for our company." Non-profits interested in a 2005 grant are invited to download an application at http://www.axondm.com/. Applications will be accepted from February 1, 2005 to September 15, 2005. Grants will be awarded on a rolling quarterly basis. Award announcements will be made April 1, July 1 and October 1. Applications submitted are good for one calendar year. The grant recipient for the first quarter 2005 is the Maine Women's Fund. Five grants were awarded in 2004. Recipients included Camp Sunshine, a Maine camp for seriously ill children and their families; the Hartford (Connecticut) Food System; the New Haven (Connecticut) Manufacturers Association, the Maine Math and Science Alliance, and Dress for Success New Hampshire. Projects included an endowment campaign brochure, a database- driven web site, corporate identity and brand development consulting, and a brochure. Axon uses an integrated approach to marketing communications. Services include marketing and design consulting, web and print design and web development. Axon Design and Marketing's client list includes companies and organizations in the biotech, nutritional supplement, retail, tourism, professional sports, education and not-for-profit sectors.
