The Fans Have Spoken! Motley Crue Answers to Fans' Petitions to 'Bring the Crue' Did Your City Make the List? Motley Crue Responds to Fan Demand, Adds 25 Additional Dates to 'Red, White & Crue Tour 2005 ... Better Live Than Dead' 'LOCK up your daughters, girlfriends, wives, fiancees and maybe even your grandmothers if they have a taste for tattoos and guitars.' - Melbourne Herald Sun LOS ANGELES, Jan. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- During their live performance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" on New Year's Eve, Motley Crue announced that, per intense fan demand, they are adding 25 new dates to their "Red, White & Crue Tour 2005 ... Better Live Than Dead," presented by VH1 and VH1 Classic. Reuniting for a major tour for the first time in six years, Motley Crue has been the hottest ticket around. Since initially going on sale December 11 with the first 25 dates, the tour is now #1 on Pollstar's "Top 50 Tours." After the initial 25 dates were announced at a Los Angeles press conference on December 6, fans in markets where dates had yet to be announced took to the internet with "Bring The Crue" campaigns, with thousands of fans using online petitions and the support of local radio stations to plead with Motley Crue to bring their show to them. At last count, campaigns had been launched in over 30 cities in North America. According to Billboard Magazine, this is the touring industry's worst year in history. Despite that, Motley is seeing great success. Allen Kovac, CEO of 10th Street Entertainment, Motley Crue's management company, said, "As soon as the initial tickets went on sale for the tour, we got offers for 70 more cities ... but we can only schedule 25 shows because of our European schedule so Motley Crue have let the fans decide where they are going." Following is a complete list of Motley Crue's initial North American arena dates, with newly added dates in bold. The new dates will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, January 8th but fans wishing to get a jump on box office demand can get tickets early by going to www.vh1.com beginning January 3rd. A UK promoter with Metropolis Music Group, Revell launched a grassroots campaign earlier this year to spark a Crue reunion based on the rediscovery of the band by a new, enthusiastic generation of fans. Taking the unprecedented steps of placing advertising in UK media and putting a hold on UK concert venues for June 2005, Revell's efforts quickly gained traction with fans around the world who added fuel to the fire by taking to the Internet and spreading the word. Motley's new single, "If I Die Tomorrow," is already a success. It was the #1 most added song on radio in its first week, with over two-thirds of the nation's rock stations playing it, leading to a top 20 debut on Billboard's Rock Chart. Jim Richards, vice president of programming for Clear Channel Radio, stated, "'If I Die Tomorrow' is a contemporary song that fits in perfectly with our current playlists. The radio stations are getting a big response from fans because they know they are part of something special." Motley Crue will also be the featured artist on Sessions@AOL on January 7th. The band's new anthology album, Red White & Crue, is due to be released by Universal on February 1. Motley Crue's autobiography The Dirt, which spent a record-breaking ten months on the New York Times best-seller list, is also being made into a major film, optioned by MTV Films/ Paramount.
