Amstel Light Heats Up the Slopes of Aspen During Week of Big Ski Competition - Dutch Brewer to Be Lead Supporting Sponsor of Powder Magazine's Reader Poll and Video Awards - WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Amstel Light, the largest selling imported light beer in the US, continues to step up its ski platform in 2005 with the announcement that it will be sponsoring a series of exhilarating events in skiing paradise, Aspen, Colorado. Among the week's highlights, will be Powder Magazine's 5th Annual Powder Reader Poll and Video Awards, of which Amstel Light is the lead supporting sponsor. The Awards, to take place Saturday, January 29, at Aspen's Hotel Jerome, will honor the world's most talented skiers and the industry's finest filmmakers. Amstel Light is also the title sponsor of television coverage for the event, which can be viewed on Fox Sports, Aspen TV, RSN, Jeep World of Adventure Sports on NBC and on the Outdoor Life Network. Leading up to the Awards will be an invitation-only kick-off party for athletes and celebrities, on Friday, January 28 at Aspen's exclusive 39° Degrees, in the Sky Hotel. Spinning blazing tunes at the kick-off party will be singer, songwriter and guitarist Samantha Ronson, the hottest DJ on the New York circuit. After the Awards, on Sunday, January 30, Amstel Light will be hosting its Apres-Ski Party at Iguana's Bar & Grille, with live bands, in Aspen Highlands; KSPN, the Valley's quality rock and locals' favorite radio station, will be co-hosting the event. Additionally, two-time world champion freeskier Chris Davenport will be on hand as co-host for Amstel Light's parties. During the activities, as part of the promotion, KSPN Radio will be sponsoring free giveaways of Amstel Light skiwear, including skis, ski sweaters, ski hats and t-shirts.
