Construction is expected to start in Spring 2005, with project completion scheduled for Spring 2006. The theatre will remain open for business during construction. Travis Reid, CEO of Loews Cineplex Entertainment, said, "We are thrilled about the exciting redevelopment of our Danbury theatre. The planned expansion and renovation reaffirms Loews' commitment to bring our patrons the best possible movie-going experience with state of the art technology in world-class theaters." The lobby will also be renovated to further enhance the movie-going experience, with added restrooms and a contemporary concession stand with a variety of hot foods, café selections, ice cream, and sweets. Stephen Hoffman, a partner in Danbury Investment Company, the owner of the land on which Loews Theaters is located, said, "We have been delighted with Loews' performance at this location since the theaters opened in 1995. In addition to the theater renovations, access to the site will be improved, and the entire parking lot will be reconfigured for added convenience.
